There ought to be a quota for saving the world. Vivienne ought to be done with this shit.

Vivienne thought she’d already earned her happy ending, even if it hadn’t been perfect, but life doesn’t always work out that way, now does it.

She juggles a runaway luck spirit, worsening tension between Natalie and Isaac, Emil’s apparent new apprenticeship, Rory’s cold fury, finally returning that First egg to the tengu, trying this whole dating thing with Dana, and whatever the hell Mark is doing.

Vivienne thinks she has enough to deal with, but Natalie’s visions maintain that the worse is yet to come. Considering Vivienne died last time, she’s not looking forward to more eldritch gods. Or Thomas Novak, local star and big bad of the entire thing.

Vivienne is tired. But what else is she to do?

In her corner, she has two psychic best friends, a spellwriter who may hate her (though his demon doesn’t), a messy attempt at a luck spirit, her new apprentice, and her own stubbornness.

Together, they’ll stop an(other) apocalypse. Somehow.
