It all started with the Rook. Michael worries it’ll end with the Rook, too. Increasingly horrifying disasters haunt Michael’s every step, but it takes a gruesome decision, and blood on his own hands, for the Rook to finally introduce himself. A monster so cruel as to be hunted even by other monsters, the Rook stalks Michael’s every movement, and Michael fears he will be at the Rook’s mercies for the rest of his life. At this rate, the rest of his life won’t be very long at all. Michael must escape the Rook’s clutches, while keeping hold of his fading sanity—and what remains of his humanity. The Rook will drag him through hell, but it is up to Michael to see if he will make it back out again.
