The ebook is available through Amazon only (it is, very unfortunately, impossible to ignore Amazon’s chokehold on the book-buying market and they don’t pay you 70% royalties unless you enroll in KDP select; maybe I’ll write a separate post about their horribleness later), but the paperback is available pretty much everywhere. Supposedly, Amazon will autopopulate their website eventually, too.
And you can order it physically through THIS VERY WEBSITE RIGHT HERE! Also your favorite bookstores! I did my paperback printing through IngramSpark, and they supply most of the printing services, so bookstores are already used to ordering from them. Get your local bookstores to stock my book!
Also, don’t forget about libraries—request it at your local one(s) and not only do I get paid, you get the book for free, and so do others! (It may just take a little longer, admittedly.)
This is the first time I’ve tried the publishing through two separate platforms thing, and I hope it works out. I know it’s the common practice for self-pubbers. Here’s hoping I didn’t mess it up somehow, or Amazon didn’t screw me over even more!
But mostly, I’m just glad that the process is over. I need to get back to writing, damn it! That’s what writers are supposed to be doing, first and foremost.
(Except we can’t, especially not self-pubbers. Nowadays, authors get to be everything, even if they do get traditionally published; we’re agents, marketers, publicists, sometimes even graphic designers. I know I’ve made my own graphics for advertising purposes*. Not to mention all of the very annoying how-to guides I had to pore through for Amazon keyword help. And I’m sure I still messed that all up or didn’t game the system properly.)
